Boris Petrovich, a modest employee of the registry office, selflessly and creatively in love with his work. All his life he wishes his fellow countrymen health, happiness, good luck on days of celebrations, comforts them in days of sorrow, but remains a kind eccentric for everyone, giving many reasons for jokes and bullying. But three times in a row his evil wishes come true, accidentally dropped from his lips, and Boris Petrovich begins to be feared and respected.
Explosions are raging in one of the ports in the territory occupied by the German fascist invaders. An old and experienced military leader, Admiral Reinhardt, arrives to investigate these emergencies. Together with the head of the Gestapo, SS Standartenfuehrer Hübe, he takes all measures to suppress the activity of the partisans, raids and arrests, but all in vain. Underwater sabotage continues. A detachment of fighters with experience of submarine warfare is sent from Italy to fight the demolitions.
In the center of the plot is a senior investigator named Masha Shvetsova and her male colleagues. The plot is the most vital, but, like in “Streets of Broken Lanterns,” it is seasoned with a fair amount of humor - otherwise, how can the audience (and the heroes) endure countless morgues, identifications and other “cute” charms of the investigative routine?
