Otavio is an idealistic union leader trying to organize workers at a factory to resist the company's exploitative practices. His son, Tião, one of the employees, is more of a realist and doesn't want to risk losing his job by striking. This clash of perspectives puts the father and son at odds. Fortunately, Tião's mother, Romana, is on hand to act as a moderator between the two opinionated men.

Brazil in the early 70s. Miguel, Eloi, Osvaldo and Paolo take part in armed attacks against the military dictatorship. They pay a heavy price with torture and arrest. Today the four friends still see each other. Only Miguel is politically active. On a photograph from a political meeting in Sao Paolo he recognises the policeman who tortured them 25 years ago and who was responsible for the death of Miguel's girlfriend. The policeman has been officially dead for a few years. On one of their fishing trips together, Miguel tells his friends of his discovery. When they hunt down and confront their nemesis they come into conflict with both themselves and each other.

Seeking for some recognition, he decides to write a play for four characters; a one-performance only, where all actors have to die onstage. On that matter, he casts an old has-been actor, who is an alcoholic, a fat actress, an endearing and intellectually disabled boy and a black actor, who has only been cast for the color of his skin. The play brings on a media hype never seen before, is an instant success and everyone is eager for the opening night. Whit defenders and detractors, the whole country talks about Leonardo Oviedo, and he will be willing to get to the very end, to fulfill this sickening artistic ideal.

Spring 2014

Quiet Dayana lives in the Bolivian mountains where she helps her grandmother with the cooking and tends the goats with her friend Walter. In the midst of her meagre existence she suddenly receives the news that she has been chosen to be Queen of the Spring. She is going to wear a magnificent white dress and her hair gets decorated. A flurry of excitement accompanies the outlandish coronation ceremony. Dayana is enthroned on a stage, surrounded by a bevy of similarly clad princesses of the same age. Afterwards, she dances with Walter, her Spring Groom in a suit and tie. The couple do not look particularly happy. Told in a series of long takes, the film provides a close and intense glimpse of another world far away. No explanation is provided and so the proceedings remain a mystery.
