Puppet animated folk tale about an old lady who finds a ball of yarn. After picking it the ball changes into a little dog, which has the magical power to be crocheted into anything the old lady fantasizes.
The young boy sends away his little dog out of his house on the New Year's Eve. The dog gets lost in the woods during the snowstorm, but New Year's miracle happens when Santa, The Snowman, The Scarecrow and a bunch of toys help out.
Inventor Chudakov builds a time machine. All that remains is to interest the technical innovation officials and receive authorization to continue the experiment.
