Four squares in the center of Lima are being restored for the bicentennial. Today, when colonial/patriotic monuments are intervened, removed or destroyed for claiming other struggles and their representations, it is worth asking ourselves what and who represent us in public spaces.
Formally eclectic, the first few seconds of the film seem to introduce us to a typical sensory documentary, but soon the flow of the narrative evolves into a much more complex portrait of the port of Paita, by concatenating recordings made by the author himself, videos generated by an AI, Google Maps views and archival images.
The petroglyphs located in the district of La Huaca, in the province of Paita, are possibly the oldest vestiges of native cultures in the area. Taking the petroglyphs as a starting point, other graphic patterns in present-day coastal spaces are explored.
