A silent adaptation of the 1778 Beaumarchais play The Marriage of Figaro, with material also used from its two sequels.
The film is based on the theatrical work of Alfred de Musset of the same name. In this version, Lysiane Bernhardt (daughter of Sarah Bernhardt) plays the role of Camille.
Eugenie, a young girl with a delicate temperament, runs away from the sordid cabaret run by her mother. Helped by a providential coincidence, she became a model in a fashion house on the Champs-Élysées.
