Filip buys an 8mm movie camera when his first child is born. Because it's the first camera in town, he's named official photographer by the local Party boss. His horizons widen when he is sent to regional film festivals with his first works but his focus on movie making also leads to domestic strife and philosophical dilemmas.
A censor's tale about the official and unwritten rules of censorship in the People's Republic of Poland accompanied by shots and archival photographs. Their selection and presentation reveal the ironic attitude of the authors towards the protagonist's statements. The film was made in the year of the liquidation of the Main Office of Press, Publication and Audience Control.
Ignacy Szczepanski's documentary is a record of a lesson in jazz improvisation given to Polish trumpeter Piotr Bal by an accomplished musician and dean of the jazz faculty at Roosevelt University in Chicago. The rehearsals are complemented by shots of the city and fragments of a concert filmed at the Pink Crocodile Club.
