A woman reads the newspaper with such intensity that she gets literally devoured by it. Painted on its pages she witnesses some of the tragic events of our times, drowns in ocean trash and is threatened by the elements unleashed by climate change. Yet in her despair she transforms this darkness into movement and art, so she plants the seeds of hope.
The loss of virginity is a unique event in a woman's life. Virginity only matters among people. They have contrived it, propagated the concept through their cultures, religions, and institutions, and made it an instrument of patriarchal power.
Sleeping alone, she tosses and turns. Her solitude is broken. Slipping in and out of consciousness, moving through associative images. She feels suffocated by her partner and frees herself, indiscriminately devouring men like an ogre. She’s overwhelmed, and he’s alone.
