The story as told by his mother of an eighteen year old boy who falls into a life of drugs and violence and of the consequences to himself and those around him.
In 1936 in rural Bang Kapi, among the rice fields, Kwan and Riam, the children of rival village chiefs, fall in love. Riam's father disapproves of the relationship, and wants to marry her off to Joi, the son of a wealthy local nobleman. Riam's father, Joi and some other men go to confront Kwan and find him on the spirit-house island with Riam.
A mysterious story set in a run-down house where an eccentric elderly lady lives alone. One day, a little girl steps inside the house and never comes back. The girl seems to be locked inside the house for 8 days. No one knows what is going on in the house except for a young doctor who witnesses everything.
