Inspired by a true story of best friends (Dayne and Lance) who mysteriously lose touch, then reunite when Dayne discovers that Lance is dying of AIDS. Izzy has recently graduated from university and is on her way to LA to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress, but her plans are quickly derailed when she is left stranded at a gas station by her friends. With nothing more than her clothes in her luggage, she has to find her way to LA with the help of the gas station attendant, Seahawk. She spends the day in New Mexico, learning more about herself, her dreams and what it means to be an alien in the US.
In 1983, my parents immigrated from Hong Kong to the United States seeking a better future for our family. They persevered through the ups and downs and forged their own path in a new country and culture. Having fulfilled their dream of creating a better life for their family and future generations, they retired in 2013. This is their story.
