Darappan is assigned to help Vivek, a researcher, and tell him about the culture and life of the local tribes. Vivek gets deeply affected by the plight of the tribals and decides to help them.
The film portrays the bitter side of life in a circus camp. Humans are just valarthumrugangal or pet animals, treated worse than the animals in a circus.
