Standing on the edge of adulthood, Andrew yearns to find his purpose as a young African-American in today's America. Blaquito is thirty years old and lives with his mother in El Matal, a small fishing village on the coast of Ecuador. One day, the beach turns up filled with cocaine packets. Blanquito, along with his friend Lorna, decide to travel to Guayaquil, where people will pay five times more per package. Little does Blanquito realize that in the days that follow he will be staring at death in the eye and losing his head for love.
Elena comes back to Ecuador to help her father overcome his illness. She spends most of her time between drugs and alcohol. While visiting her grandpa in the Andes Elena gets involved in the fight for water access in an indigenous community. She gradually understands that among family secrets, corruption and dark perversions commitment and beauty can emerge.
