In a medieval Dutch village, a young woman is caught between her faith, fanatic townsfolk and the dark forces lurking in the woods.
When Jessica develops the same mental problems her late mother had, she becomes increasingly convinced that a supernatural entity is after her. Those around her are sure that it's merely psychotic delusions, but Jessica must solve the mystery in her bloodline before it's too late and the dark forces take over for good.
Drama set in Twente's textile industry in the 1960s. The young worker Johanna wants to face the social conditions of the time. Their struggle coincides with the economic reconstruction and the arrival of Italy's first workers. Growing tensions between Twente's citizens and the newly arrived Italians lead to the riots in 1961. Along with her new lover Francesco, Johanna is in the eye of the storm.
