Jim, a robber, is in love with the chief’s bride Clara, who firmly rejects his many advances. In revenge, he snitches on the entire gang of robbers to the police, who immediately imprison the chief and his men. Clara kills the treacherous Jim and sets out to free her lover from prison. We are in a big city in a country that differs from our own in many ways, among other things in that the people there are so noble and good that the police have no business at all. There are no criminals. The prisons are empty. The poor young man Felix is trying to get behind bars because he knows that he will then have access to the lovely Christmas geese.
