A comedy about a dimwitted man who must obtain a high-school diploma before he can inherit an inn.
In the absence of his wife, a clarinet player is induced by a friend to meet a call girl, but arrived after a crime. Perceived by some people leaving the scene of the crime covered by his raincoat, he became the only suspect for the police. A small village is torn apart by a quarrel between the baker and the italian grocery tenant, mother of a pregnant young girl.
