DeWolff in Europe 2020

This documentary provides an immersive look behind the scenes of the rock group DeWolff, which is formed by Pablo and Luka van de Poel and their friend Robin Piso. The documentary can be experienced as a coming of age of musicians, a wild ride full of music, drinks and calamities.

DeWolff - Nonagon Marathon 2021

After completing DeWolff‘s Nonagon Marathon – where they played all 9 studio albums integrally during 9 shows in 9 days at TivoliVredenburg – they got a lot of requests if they could somehow release this material. A DVD release? Seems a bit outdated. Blu ray? VHS? Well… Hehe. They wanted something that you can hold in your hand and that everyone can play on their TV, computer or whatever. So DeWolff came up with something cool: all 9 live videos will be released with remixed audio in superb hi-fi Electrosaurus quality on a specially designed limited edition DeWolff 3-D USB flash drive! We know it’s not a 9 LP box set, but unfortunately vinyl can’t play video and it would be very expensive. This USB flash drive though contains all 9 live videos in high resolution and with 48kHz audio.

Eine Nacht in Venedig (A Night in Venice) is an operetta in three acts by Johann Strauss II. Its libretto was by F. Zell and Richard Genée based on Le Château Trompette by Eugène Cormon and Richard Genée. The farcical, romantic story involves several cases of mistaken identity. The piece premiered in 1883 in Berlin and then Vienna. It became one of Strauss's three most famous stage works and has been seen in New York, London and elsewhere, and has been adapted for film.

The Tales of Hoffman 1970

“With this lavish colour production of Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffman, we are in more conventional, though never dull, territory. It is a handsome, well sung version which stands up well to the contemporary BBC 2 version that graced our screens a Christmas or two ago. (This, too, was a Christmas-time, prestige production). The production and adaptation is by Václav Kaslic, who has produced the opera many times on stage: here he makes imaginative use of the new medium to overcome difficulties inherent in some stories. He has a fine cast, including Jon Piso as a robust Hoffman[,] Sylvia Geszty, Thomas Tipton and Herold Kraus. The orchestra and chorus are from the Bavarian State Opera.” - Brian Baxter, for the BFI.

For nine years Mike Piso worked in various roles at a day program for artists with intellectual disabilities in the Boston area. This short film is a black-and-white study of many colorful drawings and paintings by William, an outsider artist who attended the program for about ten years before he died at home. He was an artist of few words but created a fascinating and haunting body of work.
