One night at her home in southeastern Congo, 14-year-old Mugeni awakes to the sounds of bombs. As her family scatters to the surrounding forests to save themselves, Mugeni finds herself completely alone.
In a fishing village contaminated by a thermoelectric power plant, Mecha (33) is the grieving soul of an environmental activist who died under suspicious circumstances. The day after his death, she tries to reconcile with her son Juan (16) and to make him take charge of her memory.

Along the way, the bird reveals the sorrowful past surrounding her blue father. Understanding the truth, Adela returns to Pedro and brings an end to the winter.
