A lonely old potter saves the life of a young woman. She is grateful to him, but does not return the love he feels for her. However she feels obligated to marry him. In time, her former boyfriend finds her and takes a job working with the potter until he can convince her to run away with him.
A young bride moves into her husband's family and tries to modernize their lifestyle. Her plans, though, often get discouraged by her mother-in-law, a conservative lady who stresses traditional values. Gu Bong-seo and Kim Hui-gab are good buddies. Bong-seo has no where to go, so he lives at Hui-gab's place. Naturally, Hui-gab often gets into quarrels with his wife, and Bong-seo gets involved to help them reconcile. One day, Bong-seo wins a lottery. He saves Hui-gab from the financial trouble and returns to his hometown with the rest of the money.
