After a failed conquest, Emperor Ajaatshatru pretends to be a soldier in the enemy's army to weaken them from the inside. However, he falls in love with Amrapali, a well-respected royal courtesan, and must decide what his main priority is.
The film is soliloquy of a man who comes home to find that his wife and son are not at home, he assumes that they have left him and reminiscences his life with them, and scared of his life without them, he regrets his past indiscretions. The suspense is only revealed in the end.
To wed his sweetheart, a man must try and prove himself to her eccentric paternal uncles.
