Poisonous pterodactyl-like "vampire" creatures are preventing the GALAX Concern from harvesting planet Geona's natural resources. A small GALAX crew, of which two are immobilized by "vampire" bites, do their best to eliminate the creatures. Inspector Yanin has been sent to Geona to assess the situation.
An extraterrestrial tries in vain to establish contact with scientists on Earth. Unfortunately the first human he meets is Akimych the forester who doesn't believe in miracles.
