The Life of Sean DeLear 2024

The Life of Sean DeLear is a vibrantly multi-faceted, buoyantly propulsive documentary portrait of this irresistibly charismatic one-off — sketched in celebratory but commendably clear-eyed style by writer-director Markus Zizenbacher. There can be very few people better qualified to do justice to this particular tale. Zizenbacher befriended DeLear — born Anthony Robertson in Simi Valley, an obscure California backwater — after the latter relocated to Vienna in the early 2010s.

Dream Homes 2024 (10)

Created by the independent media platform PIN–UP in collaboration with living collectives House of GG, Lupinewood, and Ten of Cups Farm, the film reveals how these communities cultivate a profound sense of home while defying mainstream norms that often exclude queer people. Dream Homes simultaneously challenges and reaffirms the country’s emphasis on freedom, individualism, and ingenuity. Throughout its history, the US has given rise to intentional communities united by shared values, ideals, and domestic space. The film Dream Homes chronicles three contemporary LGBTQIA+ communal living structures across the nation, exploring daily life in these rural and suburban sanctuaries.
