Based on the novella by Henry James Beast in the Jungle depicts the enigmatic love story of John Marcher and May Bartram. Their duet around an omnious secret is captured in a style both physical and poetic. Set in a remote countryside mansion the story stretches over a century, spiraling from the Jamesian late 19th century to the global present.
Down-and-out Mich is working in a soup kitchen when Fadi, a Syrian refugee, causes some disturbance by cutting the line. When Mich’s bag disappears that same day, he begins to suspect Fadi. In a haze of alcohol and spurred on by his friends, Mich wanders the streets in search for his bag.
After a long evening, Camille and Thomas need to get back to their hotel for opposite reasons. It's late and even though they hate each other, they decide to walk home together, through an empty city... is this an opportunity to heal old wounds?
