Poor welder Mehmet and manicurist Nermin, who works in a high society hair salon, fall in love. When Nermin is obsessively haunted by a spoiled rich guy, their unadulterated love is disrupted.
A brooding composer longs for his late wife, oblivious to the fact that mysteriously she is still alive since she has restarted her life as an alcoholic drifter. After a late night concert the two come across each other.
The film follows the lives of those who immigrate to the city, leaving their families behind. Ahmet and his friends came to the city with great expectations, but soon confront the difficulties of adjusting to life there. After days of job hunting, they finally find employment in the harbor.
