Matías Guíñez Pérez (1999), born in Santiago, Chile, first approached the world of music through the guitar, driven by a strong desire to learn music with a Latin American character. For this reason, he studied under Jorge Prado, a Tango and Fado performer and arranger, who helped him build a foundation to continue his studies in higher education. In 2019, he entered the Escuela Moderna de Música, where he trained as a composer and arranger, graduating with highest honors in 2024 under the guidance of composer Javier Farías. His music has been featured in various audiovisual projects, a contemporary dance piece, and within the realm of chamber music. Among his main artistic interests is the composition of instrumental music, whether for incidental purposes or as independent, author-driven projects.
