A fencing master in pre-revolution Spain is hired to teach fencing to a beautiful young woman. Although he has never taught a woman before he is fascinated by her and agrees. She wishes to learn a particular thrust which he is famous for. When a local nobleman becomes involved with her the intrigue begins.

This movie doesn't have any coherent plot. It's the portrait of the lives of different people in the hard years of post-war in Spain (the 40's), and how they manage to survive in a country desolated by the war. Like other films: La colmena or Roma (Fellini) it shows us lots of characters and some moments of their lives.
A mysterious place, older than time itself, appears every few years in different parts of the world. This place selects a group of individuals from various nationalities who need to change their lives and find their path. Lucía, a believer in the love of romantic movies, and Marco, a Madrid native incapable of commitment, will discover together the true meaning of love.
