Charlotte is a depressed, shy, closed off 12-year-old girl that lives in Detroit, Michigan with her mother and siblings. She's a loner but has one creative mind that she keeps behind closed doors, locked inside her bedroom. Charlotte comes from a poverty-stricken, abusive family and struggles to enjoy the life of a normal 12-year-old. Because she isn't a normal 12-year-old...yet she has some awareness of the outside world but can't figure out how to cope with her depressed, demented mind. Her only friend is her depression.
