Navakoti Narayana is a 1964 Indian Kannada-language film directed by S. K. Ananthachari starring Rajkumar and Sowcar Janaki. The film is based on the life of Purandara Dasa, a prominent composer of Carnatic music who lived from 1484 to 1564. In the film, Rajkumar plays the role of Purandara Dasa. The music of the film was composed by Shivaprasad. This was the second Kannada movie on the life of Purandara Dasa after 1937 movie Purandaradasa.
One illiterate villager forcibly purchases a lottery ticket which fetches him one lakh rupees. By the time results announced, he loses His ticket somewhere in the house. Story revolves around finding the ticket, getting the money and spending of that huge money.
Thammanna, a cattleman, and Murali, a lawyer, are identical. Confusion arises when Thammanna falls in love with a rich and educated woman Meena, also a daughter of a lawyer, who mistakes him for Murali.
Three friends Ram ,Rahim and Raymond from different cities come to Bombay to make big in music industry they meet many people for work purpose but luck hasn't favored them yet.They come across Asha whose left homeless in the city as the person she came to meet has been transferred somewhere else the trio decide to help her and shelter in their house.Asha also has music talent and helps Ram,Rahim and Raymond get work in films and other functions, they happened to get chance at a New Year function where cops come and arrest the trio where they find that Asha is not whom she claims but was in the city to meet her lover.
This story is based on the epic of Mahabharatha.
