Part of a trilogy by Salah Abu Seif about women’s empowerment. The film takes place in late 1940s / early 1950s urban Egypt, and tells the story of a young woman’s search for personal freedom and a fulfilling identity as a young modern Egyptian.
The film revolves around three friends, one of whom decides to develop his father's shop for shaving. It is divided into three sections: one for men, the other for women and the third for animals. The first customer is a maid and her mistress is married. After that, he married a rich master to avenge her ex-husband.
A man loves a dancer in a nightclub and decides to marry her , but he wants her to quit her work. The owners of the nightclub conspire against him by making him join the military police so the dancer can return to work.
A misguided young man ignores the wise advice of a gang leader and starts selling drugs to achieve his dreams of a luxury lifestyle; but he soon realizes that quick money comes with deadly consequences.
