At the Næsbygaard estate, the old landowner misses his grandson Martin, who is on a cattle farm in Texas learning about agriculture. The estate's shooter is ill, so the stud master has to take care of his job as well. This comes at a time when he is training hard for the gallop race for the King's honorary prize. To help lift their spirits, they are visited by some children from Copenhagen who are on vacation. When serious problems arise involving poaching on the estate's land, the children help to solve the case. The stud farm manager is injured, and it looks as if the estate's horse will not be able to participate in the big gallop race. But luckily, young Martin returns home from Texas just in time....

The massive billion dollars’ project is the opportunity for Greenland to become financially independent from Denmark. The film zooms in on the isolated fishing town Maniitsoq as the years pass and the local inhabitants are put on hold – waiting for the American Dream.

In the middle of Maike's sister Inka's wedding preparations, the marital dispute between Sören and Maike is still simmering because she has been cheating. Maike suggests that Sören should have a fling himself so that peace can finally be restored. With whomever! But Sören ends up in bed with Maike's best friend Doris, of all people. Dirk, Doris' husband, is not the only one fuming with rage and wants to give Sören a thrashing. Maike in particular reproaches Sören: the offer was never meant to be like that! And in the midst of all the chaos, Inka decides to throw the stuffy wedding, which groom Nils only wants to go ahead with for the sake of his conservative mother Renate. So: no wedding and three break-ups?
