Kenes Duisekeyev (1946–2020) was a Kazakh composer, conductor, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He graduated from the Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory, majoring in composition. He worked as the musical director and chief conductor of the ensemble “Gulder,” the “Kazakhconcert” association, and the pop-symphonic orchestra of television and radio. He composed music for films and theatrical productions, as well as the symphony “Tolgau”, the symphonic poem “Zhalantos Batyr”, the cantata “O, Dunie”, the musicals “Madi” and “Akku Zhibek”, the operetta “Aldar Kose”, and numerous chamber, orchestral, and vocal works.
