Jagiello and his squire meet with representatives of the Teutonic army. Both sides do not want conflict and intend to resolve their dispute peacefully, but the language barrier is an obstacle for them.
Adam confronts the Serpent, who often meets with the man's wife, Eve, and tempts her to taste the forbidden fruit. The Serpent brazenly responds to Adam's every argument, which the latter in turn counters with violence, pouncing on the tempter. Resolving this dispute may not be so easy.
