Bappu meets with an accident in Madras and is on his deathbed when he asks his friend, Vasu, to get his sister married off. Vasu then sets off to fulfill his promise to Bappu.
When a difficult man falls blind, he alienates his family and caretakers even further.
The film revolves around Narayana Kaimal, a successful lawyer, who loses his eyesight and has to rely on his servant Appu. Then after a while he regains his eyesight but pretends to be blind in order to test his children.
