Based on the story of Leonid Andreev. St. Petersburg, 1905. A poor student moves to the estate of a wealthy aristocrat to become his son's teacher, and tries to unravel the crazy secrets that the owner of the house keeps.
A very strange teacher appears at school, who instead of a lesson topic tells the students 3 stories. These are modern interpretations of the legends about Onar, Irga and Chotkar - the heroes of the Mari people, "the last pagans of Europe". However, the head teacher of the school begins to suspect something is wrong.
