Ayalum Njanum Thammil is a story of a committed senior doctor and an irresponsible junior doctor and through their relationship, a picture of the medical profession is drawn vividly. Prathap Pothan portrays the doctor who, by his absolute devotion to his profession, lives a lonely life and Prithviraj appears as the junior doctor.
Iravi works as a bus conductor on a bus that shuttles between a city and a hill station. His life changes when he gets involved in the villager's problems.
The film consists of four "chapters", each related to the other in some or the other way. The film has a unique plot which talks about people who unknowingly ends up helping each other, in a series of events which take place precisely in two days and a night.
