Seventeen-year-old Carlos doesn't fit in anywhere, not in his family nor with the friends he has chosen in school. But everything changes when he is invited to a mythical nightclub where he discovers the underground LGBTQ nightlife scene: punk, sexual liberty and drugs.
During the Mexican Revolution, Leandro and Odón, two war vultures, find a zebra. They mistakenly believe this to be an American horse and thus begin a journey in search of General Obregón, who they assume, will appoint them as colonels given their peculiar beast of burden. They partake in several adventures during their journey.
Beto, an imaginative and precocious 9 year-old, feels creatively stifled by his overbearing grandparents who act as his guardians. He finds an outlet through a friendship he forms with Stephany, his transgender neighbor, who helps him see the world in unexpected ways.
