A sad and lonely donkey wanders through the desert, seeming to find no reason for its existence. One day he offers help to a couple of pilgrims who pass by with a child. Together, they face Roman patrols, sandstorms and many other pilgrims. They finally arrive safely at their destination. The donkey returns to the desert, but he still has a danger to face.

As Cobras is based on these characters created by writer Luís Fernando Veríssimo, published daily in Brazilian newspapers and, between one joke and another, a vignette that satirizes a well-known film distributor.
A bourgeois housewife's life is shaken by a series of anonymous letters that she periodically receives, increasingly obscene. At first, she believes the sender to be a complete stranger, then she begins to suspect her husband's friends. But she doesn't dare talk to her husband about the letters or their contents: she remains anxious, thinking about suicide, and always waiting for the postman.
