Crime Thriller with Helmut Qualtinger as Chief Inspector who investigates a Murder in 1961 Vienna. The murder is based on a real murder, the "bathub murder", which gained quite some media attraction in austria in the 1940's.
The renowned Viennese artist Stefan Helmers spends the summer in a mountain village where he has been commissioned to paint a church window. There, he falls in love with a peasant girl who accompanies him to Vienna after completing his work. But in the metropolis, both realize they have made a mistake. The girl returns to her village, and Helmers marries his longtime friend Anita.
The social worker Luise Gottschalk dedicates all her passion to the Viennese caretakers and derailed young people. Tirelessly, she advertises to adults for understanding the needs of adolescents.
