Substitute is a film by the French former footballer Vikash Dhorasoo. Filmed before and during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Dhorasoo "recorded his thoughts and feelings throughout the tournament", resulting in a "deeply unconventional sporting film".
Kouski's life is turned upside down the day Sandra, his best friend's girlfriend, turns up and begs for help. Her husband has disappeared without a trace. Shocked, he sets out to find her. But Sandra also disappears after stealing a large sum of money from Kouski.
