A group of peasants enters La Estancia in search of their missing relatives. Are they dead? Are they alive? Nobody knows. Some survivors of the massacre hide in the forest wandering around in shock.
Young Benjamin is having trouble adjusting to barbed wirework. Waiting for days to the Mennonite chief but the wait is very long. The other workers, César and Genaro, begin to feel that the Paraguayan Chaco is getting strange and tiring.
At night in the forest, an idealistic woman watches short images of home movies. She goes into the forest and begins to read passages from the Generation 900 literary movement in Paraguay. The next morning, accompanied by a donkey, she climbs a hill to read.
