Doah has a rare eye disease that gives her a disturbing appearance. Because of that she is being outcast by the children in the village. Together with her mother she must fight against prejudice and hatred in the pursuit of a friend.
His companion is solitude at the sea, and his moral compass is his faith. Hassan's entire worldview is challenged as the refugee crisis affects this coastal village. All individuals close to him will be affected by the decisions he makes.
