Out of the blue, a meek, old painter begins receiving love letters from Rosaura. This intrigues his fellow boarding house tenants, so they involve themselves into his relationship until one day the mysterious Rosaura appears.
Returning to Argentina, an engineer trained in Europe visiting a friend of his father and meets the teenage daughter, who begins a relationship of love and passion.
A university student comes to stay with a bedridden woman and her four children. Helping out around the house, she soon grows fond of the mother and children. An attorney falls for the student, but the couple experiences problems when she declines to leave what he refers to as "that lunatic asylum."
