After India's father dies in an auto accident, her uncle Charlie, who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn. Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.
Diggsy has been in love with Suzette since he was 9 years old. After she marries someone else, he encounters a mysterious stranger who offers him a key that can open doors into parallel universes. This uncanny opportunity gives him a chance to find a version of Suzette who will love him back. During his journey, he unexpectedly meets Gwyneth, a wild card who may throw his universe-jumping adventure for a loop.
