Velur trying to survive another day in her life, decides to take a peek inside her brain in hopes of feeling something, in the midst of this self-exploration she finds herself divided between emotions and a fight with herself, becoming frustrated with the understanding that she cannot understand herself.
Emilia finds an escape from her reality through visions she experiences when in contact with a mythical river that her father Eliseo, the "curandero" of their village, forbids her to get in.
