Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Desiree Petersen is a retired Canadian professional wrestler, born in Calgary, Alberta, but often billed as being from Copenhagen, Denmark, due to her mother's heritage. She began her wrestling career in 1983 after training at The Fabulous Moolah's school, making her professional debut in January 1983 against Velvet McIntyre in British Columbia. Petersen joined the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in 1984, where she replaced Princess Victoria as Velvet McIntyre's tag team partner. Together, they won the WWF Women's Tag Team Championship. During her time in the WWF (1984–1985), Petersen competed in both singles and tag team matches against various opponents, including Moolah, Mad Maxine, Leilani Kai, Judy Martin, and others. In mid-1985, she became involved in a major feud with Judy Martin, which was highlighted during an interview with Vince McMahon on Tuesday Night Titans. In 1985, after defending the titles alongside McIntyre, Petersen left the WWF and split from her partner. A reported tag team title match between McIntyre and Petersen against The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin and Leilani Kai) supposedly took place in Egypt, but it never actually occurred. Kai and Martin were later awarded the titles when McIntyre and Petersen split. Petersen returned to the WWF in 1988, where she had a feud with WWF Women's Champion Sherri Martel. After leaving the WWF, Petersen continued her career in the Ladies Professional Wrestling Association (LPWA) in 1992. At the LPWA Super Ladies Showdown pay-per-view event, she was defeated by Shinobu Kandori.
