Biography: 

Daniel Murphy is a filmmaker, film programmer, and educator based in Milwaukee, WI. As a moving-image artist, he intends to interrogate the landscapes in which he finds himself, as well as the memories, both shared and subjective, through which he is compelled to define them. Examining historical and contemporary technologies concurrently, he proposes a cinema engaged with the textures of media, and the stowaway contexts and resonances that these textures suggest. He currently lectures in the Department of Film, Video, Animation, and New Genres at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
