Daeng Idris bin Ismail or better known as Daeng Idris (1903 – 28 Mac 2003) is a Malaysian actor famously in the 1940's and 1950's. He was known for his role as Datuk Bendahara in Hang Tuah (1956) and as Tok Penghulu in Semerah Padi(1956).
Hang Tuah and his four sworn brothers, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu, has pledged to protect the Sultan of Malacca. With their dedication, the five brothers rose quickly from the ranks, especially Hang Tuah whom has proven himself to be an able warrior and leader. When Hang Tuah managed to persuade Tun Teja to marry the Sultan of Malacca, the Sultan was overjoyed and rewarded Hang Tuah with full honours. The old guards felt threatened and envious, decided to frame him.

Hassan (P. Ramlee) is 10 when his father died. His mother had died when he was younger. His late father's boss feels sorry for Hassan and adopts him. At the same time, Salmah (Saadiah) has developed a crush towards Hassan, fuelling Aziz's fury. When the Second World War is approaching, the Royal Malay Regiment begins recruiting young soldiers.
