In Dunkerque, a town in northern France, Lucia is feeling the chill winds of change: the many women in her family are organizing the funeral of the only man in the house, her dying grandfather. Lucia cannot face losing him and takes refuge in the arms of Rabah, a young man who lives nearby, with whom she embarks on a turbulent relationship.
The Calais “Jungle” refugee camp was demolished in October 2016. At the tail end of its brief existence, director Colia Vranici follows a 16-year-old Afghan boy as he passes through, dreaming of a future in England.
