The film mainly consists of various, often grotesque episodes. There is also a frame story from which the episodes are derived. However, the connection between the frame story and the episodes is very weak. Many episodes revolve around surveillance and security. In the frame story, insurance agent Erich and Richard are stuck together in an elevator that is unusually large for an apartment building (about 3x3 meters). While Erich wants to get out as quickly as possible, Richard isn't actually in any hurry, as he seems to live in the elevator.

Susanne Teubner, a sympathetic young woman who has killed her husband in an affect, is poorly advised by her lawyer and sentenced to life imprisonment for willful murder. The arrival in prison is a shock to her. Resigned and exhausted, she endures the degrading admission procedure. She doesn't notice that the young doctor Dr. Beck immediately felt more than professional interest for her.

Metronome (120 BPM) is a film directed by Konstantin Lucas Mikaberidze, Lola Quivoron & Christian Reifert for the workshop "Musique At Work" supervised by Noëlle Pujol for the first year of Masters students in Film Studies at the University Paris Diderot (Paris 7). Shot in one take, Alexandre Babeanu records three musiciens -- Émilien de Bortoli, Adrien Katz & Min Yin II -- who improvise one after the other for two minutes on a fixed tempo of 120 beats per minutes. From these recordings, he creates a remix that he plays back to his collaborators.
