Arlindo works delivering the clothes that his wife washes. During a working day, he finds a customer's cat, who offers a reward to whoever returns it. To deliver the animal, he ends up going through a lot of confusion.
A letter summons American detective Steve Marshall to Sao Paulo, Brazil, in search of fugitive murderess Louise Dunning. Marshall contacts Louise and learns that she murdered her husband only in self-defense. In the meantime, Marshall is set up as a pawn in a counterfeiting ring (they were the ones who sent him the letter), and unwittingly helps the police capture the criminals. Louise decides to remain in Brazil.
Eduardo wants to become a police reporter. To do so, he unravels a mysterious crime, but fails to get the editor of his newspaper to promote it. He is engaged to Suzy, who works at a nightclub. In charge of interviewing a famous actress, June, gets involved in several embarrassing situations that are created by Suzy and two other reporters, Harry and Steve, who follow June since her arrival in Brazil.
