A very typical post-Soviet era storyline. A bunch of vagabonds lured an innocent teenage girl to their apartment, offered her a drink, intimidated, then gang raped her. Local cops are incapable to undertake an adequate actions against the scoundrels - prevented by the superior chief of the local police, who is the dad of one of the scumbags. The case is closed. The girl's granddad tired of an endless circumlocution decides to take revenge in his own hands.
Danka's and Ksanka's childhood in the village brutally ends when their father is killed by a White Guard officer in front of their eyes. Seeking revenge, they join forces with Valerka, an intellectual from big city, and the gipsy Yashka, but before they get can close to their enemy they have to help their village and the advancing Red Army.
An idealistic, sophisticated young woman meets a rough-around-the-edges, blue collar man and rejects him, only to find out later that they are destined for true love together, despite the fact that he cannot now pass his certification test after she threw him out of her adult education class.

The film, written by Roman Super and Ivan Proskuryakov, tells about the only circus in the world where difficult teenagers learn circus art and become real artists. Using its example, the Uppsala Circus project shows how creativity can give children the opportunity to live more interesting and successful lives. The film makes it clear to teenagers that there are places where they will be welcomed, and people who are ready to understand and help.
