The Dybbuk 1937 ( 6.3)

In a Polish shtetl, two young men who have grown up together betrothe their unborn children, ignoring the advice of a mysterious traveler not to pledge the lives of future generations. Soon after, one of them dies, and the wife of the other dies in childbirth. The children grow up in different towns, without ever knowing of the betrothal, but the power of the vow leads them to meet each other when they are marriageable. The young woman, Leah, is promised to another man, but Channon, the son of the father who died, is a practitioner of mysticism, and seeks to win his bride through sorcery.

The director takes a look at the situation of transgender people in Poland in the late 1980s. He interviews trans people themselves and polls passers-by on the street about the topic they’ve given very little thought to. Among expressions of disgust and condemnation, there is only one completely different voice.

Undefeated 1984

A documentary reconstruction of the events of June 1956 in Poznań based on accounts of witnesses and participants of the strike as well as security service employees. The picture is dominated by photographic and film archives from state resources and unique materials from private collections.

A film interpretation of an interesting theory by French scientist Rene Thom, concerning certain events that occur in biology, physics, and economics in a violent way, involving a change of structure or state. This theory allows for a better understanding of phenomena occurring in the world around us.
